In 2010...

The word and the need are spreading! This Spring, ACS will be providing plants for 50 hub sites throughout the state. When we include the sites that some of these core projects are partnered with, the number of gardens gaining support from ACS is well over 100 statewide! As a Portland based non-profit, ACS is also excited to have so many requests from right here in our own great city as well as from rural towns in other regions of the state.

In 2009, the American Center for Sustainability extended our region of service to include garden sites throughout Oregon. In neighboring cities and rural communities, from Portland to Medford and out to Pendleton, ACS has the privilege of supporting projects who are committed to sustainability through food production. With the network of Oregon State Master Gardeners throughout the state and a spreading word of mouth, ACS helped upstarting community gardens, food pantries, and demonstration gardens overcome obstacles of resources and space to grow starts.
